 Donations, Recycling & Responsible Disposal

When you hire us for junk removal, you’re not just getting a cleanup—you’re getting a responsible, eco-conscious service you can feel good about. We take the extra time to sort every load, prioritizing donations and recycling before considering disposal. That means less waste for North DFW, and more items going to people in need, and a cleaner community. Here’s what happens to your junk after we haul it away:

Donation

Whenever possible, we try to give usable items a second life by donating them to local charities and organizations. Many items that people no longer need—like furniture, household goods, clothing, and appliances—are still in great condition and can be put to good use by someone else.

Instead of sending these items straight to the landfill, we first sort through everything we collect to identify what can be donated. This helps support the local community, reduces waste, and ensures your unwanted items can benefit someone in need.

Our goal is simple: if it can be reused, we do everything we can to make sure it gets donated before anything else is considered.

Donate2Impact

2417 FM 423, Little Elm 75068

We donate reusable household items from our Junk Removal Service instead of sending them directly to the landfill. One of the local organizations we frequently work with is Donate2Impact. They help redistribute usable furniture, household goods, clothing, and other items back into the community to help reduce unnecessary waste.

Upscale Resale Thrift Shop

920 Dallas Dr, Suite 106, 76205

For higher quality household goods, decor, clothing, and reusable items, we also utilize Upscale Resale Thrift Shop. All proceeds from the thrift shop directly support Denton County Friends of the Family, helping provide assistance and services to individuals and families affected by domestic violence and sexual assault.

Goodwill

3939 Ohio Dr, Frisco 75035

We also regularly donate qualifying items to Goodwill whenever furniture, clothing, electronics, and household items are still in usable condition. Donating usable items helps reduce landfill waste while supporting local job training and community assistance programs through Goodwill’s mission.

Recycling

After donations, the next priority in our disposal process is recycling. We sort through collected materials to recover anything that can be properly processed and reused as raw materials instead of being sent to a landfill.

Many items we haul contain components that can be broken down and recycled through local facilities. This helps reduce environmental impact and keeps valuable materials in circulation.

What We Recycle

  • Scrap metal (steel, aluminum, copper, and mixed metals)

  • Electronics and e-waste (TVs, computers, monitors, printers)

  • Cardboard and paper products

  • Plastics that can be processed at recycling facilities

  • Wood and lumber materials from furniture or construction debris

  • Appliances with recyclable metal components

  • Yard waste (branches, brush, and organic debris where accepted)

Whenever possible, we separate these materials and route them to the appropriate recycling centers to ensure they are handled responsibly and kept out of landfills.

General Recycle

699 E. Ste Hwy 121 Business, Lewisville 75057

For scrap metal, appliances, and other recyclable materials, we frequently utilize General Recycling as part of our responsible disposal process. Recycling metal materials helps reduce landfill waste while allowing reusable materials like steel, aluminum, copper, and other metals to be processed and repurposed properly.

Golden Tree Maintenance

1080 E HWY 121 Lewisville 75057

For clean green waste disposal, we use Golden Tree Maintenance in Lewisville, which strictly accepts tree limbs, brush, logs, wood chips, and clean uncontaminated dirt. They do not accept processed lumber, construction debris, treated wood, or storm-related mixed materials, so we only deliver properly separated organic waste from applicable jobs like tree removal, brush clearing, and clean soil disposal to ensure everything is handled within their approved recycling stream.

North Texas Natural Select Materials

110 E University Dr, Prosper 75078

For concrete, brick, and other clean masonry debris, we utilize North Texas Natural Select Materials as part of our recycling and disposal process. This is where we take our Concrete Debris. Whenever possible, clean concrete and brick materials from demolition, patio removal, paver removal, and construction debris jobs are separated from general waste so they can be properly recycled and repurposed instead of unnecessarily sent to landfill.

Landfill / Transfer Station

Landfill at Denton, Texas

After we’ve sorted out everything that can be donated or recycled, the remaining materials are taken to a licensed transfer station or landfill for proper disposal. This step is always our last resort and only includes items that cannot be reused or processed through recycling facilities.

We make sure all disposal is handled in compliance with local regulations, so you don’t have to worry about improper dumping or environmental harm. Everything is disposed of responsibly and through approved facilities.

What We Dump

  • Broken or heavily damaged furniture

  • Mattresses and box springs that can’t be donated or recycled locally

  • Mixed materials that cannot be separated for recycling

  • Contaminated or unusable household items

  • Construction debris that is not recyclable

  • Severely worn or unsafe appliances

  • Non-recyclable plastics and composites

Even at this stage, our goal is to minimize what goes to the landfill whenever possible by ensuring proper sorting and diversion before disposal.

Denton County Landfill

1527 South Mayhill Road, Denton 76208

For general non-recyclable waste and mixed debris, we utilize this landfill as part of our disposal process for Denton County. Materials that cannot be donated or separated for recycling are transported to approved landfill facilities to ensure proper handling and disposal in compliance with local regulations and environmental standards.

North Texas Municipal Water District

3820 Sam Rayburn Hwy, Melissa 75454

We like using this landfill for the Collin County area. Friendly, very direct in operation, and have a drive through spray down for your vehicle to ensure there is a minimal amount of mud before you get back on the road.

Disposal Frequently Asked Questions

What happens to my junk after it’s picked up?

After pickup, we sort everything into three categories: donations, recycling, and responsible disposal. Usable items are donated, recyclable materials are taken to proper facilities, and the rest is disposed of at licensed transfer stations or landfills.

Do you throw everything in the landfill?

No. We prioritize donation and recycling first. The landfill is always the last step and only used for items that cannot be reused or recycled.

What items can be donated?

We donate items that are still in good, usable condition such as furniture, appliances, household goods, clothing, and office items. If it can still be used by someone else, we try to donate it.

What do you recycle from junk removal jobs?

We recycle materials like scrap metal, electronics (e-waste), cardboard, paper, certain plastics, wood, and appliance components whenever possible through local recycling facilities.

How do you decide what gets recycled vs. thrown away?

We sort items based on condition and material type. Anything that can be reused is donated, anything recyclable is sent to appropriate facilities, and only non-usable or non-recyclable items go to the landfill.

Do I need to separate my junk before pickup?

No, you don’t need to sort anything. Our team handles all sorting, loading, and disposal for you.

Is your junk disposal environmentally friendly?

Yes. We focus on reducing landfill waste by prioritizing donations and recycling whenever possible. Our goal is to minimize environmental impact on every job.

Where do you take the junk you can’t recycle or donate?

Anything that cannot be reused or recycled is taken to licensed local transfer stations or landfills that follow proper disposal regulations.
